What is NC-TOPPS?
NC-TOPPS stands for the North Carolina Treatment Outcomes and Program Performance System (NC-TOPPS). It is a web-based system for gathering outcome and performance data managed and required by N.C. DMH/DD/SAS. NC-TOPPS was implemented statewide in July 2005 and is used for adults, adolescents and children ages six and older who are receiving publicly-funded services for mental health and/or substance use disorder issues.
The data gathered can provide reliable information that is used to measure the impact of treatment and to improve services and management quality throughout the service system and can be used to assist in developing appropriate treatment plans and evaluating the impact of services on a member’s life.
